Just when you thought Varadero was a newish beach resort you then find the Municipal Museum! The museum exhibits items that give an insight into the history of the city. These include personal effects from past residents and founders of the city, objects, documents, maps, and testimonies of Varadero’s historical moments, people and patriotic figures that helped shape the town into what it is today. The architecture of building alone is reason enough for a visit. The traditional Caribbean architectural style of the city which is based on vibrant colors of wood and other materials brought from surrounding mangroves. The museum opened in 1981 and provides some in-depth history of the Cuban city of Varadero. The Municipal Museum of history of Varadero is installed in a building dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. Its construction took place in 1919, and was erected in the style of the great houses in the old colonial plantations of Cuba at the time. Admission fee is just 1 CUC See all the Museums in Cuba
