Hop On Hop Off Bus Varadero

The Varadero Hop On Hop Off Tour buses are open-top double-decker transport perfect for moving around Varadero cheaply. The system is rather simple; you buy a ticket for 6 CUC and you can hop on and off as many times as you want during that whole day. With no less than 45 stops in Varadero you can basically visit anywhere you wish. The stops are located near the most prominent tourist attractions, all hotels in Varadero, the Varadero Dolphinarium, Park Josone, Museums, Varadero Beach bars and even Paladares in Varadero. Every half-hour a bus will pass by each stop, there being three buses in constant rotation throughout the day. The lower deck is air-conditioned and the upper deck is open-air and a perfect for the kids and to see the sights!

Located on 1st avenue in downtown Varadero, Josone Park, is characterized by its extensive gardens with a pleasant fresh water lake over which a large arched bridge spans. The park is an oasis for migrating birds that nest in the trees within the park and also the resident ducks and swans that live here all year round. Over recent years, the manager of the park has slowly included other bird species like macaws, parrots, flamingos, and even ostriches. Great for kids and all the family, you can rent rowing boats to crisscross the lake while also seeing the lush gardens and impressive birds wandering around the grounds. There are various restaurants within the grounds for all tastes.

The entrance fee is 25 CUC, however this includes drinks and some bar snacks plus your own table and waitress service. Just when you thought Varadero was a newish beach resort you then find the Municipal Museum! The museum exhibits items that give an insight into the history of the city. These include personal effects from past residents and founders of the city, objects, documents, maps, and testimonies of Varadero’s historical moments, people and patriotic figures that helped shape the town into what it is today. The architecture of building alone is reason enough for a visit. The traditional Caribbean architectural style of the city which is based on vibrant colors of wood and other materials brought from surrounding mangroves. The museum opened in 1981 and provides some in-depth history of the Cuban city of Varadero. The Municipal Museum of history of Varadero is installed in a building dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. Yes, Varadero has an amusement park! Tucked in just behind Parque Josone on the main road its located right next to the Cupet gas station and very easy to find. Amongst the various rides you’ll find; go-carts, bumper cars, mini roller coaster and stand alone rides for infants and younger kids. There is a mechanized mountain ride which soars to about 20 meters above the ground. You can play pool, 10 pin bowling and there’s even a Karaoke room. The Varadero Attraction Park also has lots of shops and a nice bar which is very reasonably priced.

If you enjoy a game then the course has its challenges, especially crosswinds on the 16th and 17th holes. Even if you don´t intend to play Golf, the Xanadú Mansion is at the golf Course and is part of the club house, situated on a rocky embankment called San Bernardino crags, this beautiful house was designed by architects Covarrocas and Govantes in 1927 for the Dupont family and French/American millionaire Irenee Dupont de Nemours.
